CMS Community Based Programs

CMS helps pregnant and parenting adolescents and their families. Our comprehensive services include case management, pregnancy testing, counseling, referral and advocacy, childbirth preparation, parenting education, legal advocacy, health care coordination, life skills and help with decision making and planning for the future.

The CMS programs provide both information and assistance to women and their partners who wish to consider making an adoption plan. We offer closed and open adoption options.

Parenting Programs are provided in home-based and group sessions. The professionally trained parenting staff uses various curriculums such as The Nurturing Program, The Parents as Teachers Program and Parenting Skills.

We are certified by the New York Court System to provide Parents In Transition, a 6-hour Parent Education and Awareness Program for parents involved in separation, divorce or custody. Attendance may be voluntary or ordered by the court and there is a fee for the program.

The Family Life Education Program is a preventative program geared toward reducing the incidence of adolescent pregnancy. Staff is available to give presentations on a variety of topics on sexuality, relationships, self-esteem and teen pregnancy.

Additionally, Farano Families in Transition (FFIT) a permanency planning program for families affected by HIV/AIDS, is available in all of the counties served by CMS. For information or to make a referral, view our page on this site, call or e-mail the contact location listed to the right in the county where you live.
